With Chelsea now behind us, and the rainy bank holidays gone, hopefully we can slow the work in the garden and start to enjoy the fruits of our labours. Mind you I did read somewhere that the first and third weeks of June are usually wet and known as the English Monsoon. Wimbledon is the third week of June I believe?
Jobs for the month - with the plants now bursting into life much of the work is removing the weeds, and protecting the growing plants from attack. Continue to mow the lawn at the lower summer setting and finish off the edging. |

The slugs are still enjoying the rain. Rather than let the rest of the garden wildlife suffer, particularly hedgehogs, Growing Success have a new organic slug killer that has generated press interest - we were featured in the Times in May with this item and it has been our best selling line this year - 750g Slug killer is available in many of our partner centres. |

We are finding stock problems even more acute than usual this year for some companies. A combination of events is causing the problem industry wide - the extreme winter in China plus problems at Felixtowe and Southampton container ports where cranes crashed or collapsed at both ports. Due to this we are removing Tom Chambers items from sale for a short period until stocks return. In addition please bear with us on some of the Gardman baskets as they are also in short supply. At the moment we are stocking J Arthur Bowers Metal Baskets and Natural Baskets. Pictured is the J Arthur Bowers 14inch Forge master hanging basket. |

We have a new range of items for you, many of which are designed to help enjoy the garden rather than prepare it for summer. A new range Gazebos, Arbours and Summerhouses is now in place for relaxing, alongside trampolines, swimming pools, swings and sandpits for the more energetic. To mark the occasion, a number of items including the Buckie Corner Gazebo is reduced for June - rather than sell at the RRP of £1119 it is available for £949.99 while stocks last. Delivery on these items is seven to ten days. |

One radically new product we are looking to bring in over the next two weeks is from a company called Plantworks - their Rootgrow Mycorrhizal fungi is a departure from the norm, being a benefical fungi that helps roots seek out moisture and nutrients in the soil. You can find more about it on their own website here. |
